During my time as a researcher, my primary focus was on the production of renewable biopolymers, specifically cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), through enzymatic hydrolysis. This innovative biochemical approach for CNC production held the potential to bridge both environmental and economic gaps that exist within traditional manufacturing methods for this nanomaterial.My responsibilities surrounded not only conducting experiments in the laboratory and analyzing the resulting data but also staying updated on the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities within the fields of nanocellulose and enzymatic hydrolysis. This comprehensive engagement allowed me to make informed decisions and remain intellectually connected to the research.In recognition of my contributions, I was awarded a scholarship from The São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP, 2020/04665-0). Furthermore, I had the privilege of presenting my work at prestigious events such as the 28th and 30th International Symposium on Scientific and Technological Initiation at USP (SIICUSP), where I ranked among the top 15% from the Lorena School of Engineering. I also showcased my research at the XII Semana de Biotecnologia Industrial (SBI), where I received the best oral presentation award in the undergraduate category. Additionally, I participated in the 4th Brazilian Nanocellulose Summit, an international conference, where I delivered a pitch in English. These accolades underscore my effective communication skills and dedication, as I consistently strive to deliver the highest-quality work, whether in coursework or research pursuits.
