Manage 6 seperate departments,Transport, Logistics Ops, Shore-base, Exit Strategy, Maintenance and Off Load Facility.It was my duty to ensure safe, efficient operations at all times. I was actively engaged in ensuring our staff adhere to all Toll and Chevron safety requirements and procedures. I was responsible for ensuring we complied with all relevant State and Federal laws and guidelines, especially chain of responsibility.I was responsible for ensure timely discharge and loading of vessels and barges, transportation of all freight on Barrow Island, planning of all freight movements to and from the project. I was responsible for performance management of staff and supervisors, recruitment, liaison with clients and contract managers and training. I was also responsible for maintaining our KPI’s and ensuring compliance with them.It was also my responsibility to manage our fleet of prime movers, reach stackers, forklifts and other assets to ensure their full utilisation and ensure they were maintained and in good working order.I dealt with all manner of freight including but not limited to Containers, plant and equipment, OOG (Out of Gauge)Freight, heavy lifts, bulk cargo, dangerous goods, food and life support items required for the project.I was responsible for the planning and implementation of transport plans, labour allocations and managing many out of scope projects that arose whilst in this position.The development of JHA’s and safe work instruction documentation. I actively participated in the IFO ( Incident Free Operations) meetings and was a member of the IFO committee that helped drive the safety culture on the project.I was also responsible for driving efficiencies and managing cost targets.I enjoy building lasting relationships with our clients and business partners and also watching my fellow employees grow and reach their goals.

Manage the day to day operations of all personnel and equipment, this requires planning labour requirements, planning equipment utilisation and ensuring safe efficient operations. I liaised with our clients to ensure their needs are met, I also ensure they have the correct assets for their respective waste streams.As part of my duties I am responsible for managing several different lay down areas across the LNG site, this requires daily inspections, planning collections and deliveries to ensure a fluid operation.I was charged with ensuring our supply of assets is maintained, I liaised with both Toxfree and Chevron Logistics to ensure we had assets available for our operations, I also track all freight coming to and from the Island for ToxfreeDuties also include, daily site inspections, updating and reviewing procedures and plans, ensuring environmental compliance, providing support to management and clients. Development of all JHA’S and work method statements, and holding daily pre start meetings with the team.I was responsible for performance management of our team and ensuring our training needs were met to ensure fluid operations at all times

Barrow Island is a very remote site, this provides challenges in both planning and logistics on a daily basis, these challenges have to be overcome to allow timely delivery of project cargo. In this position I manage a team of Supply Base Operators that Discharge and Load barges and vessels that bring cargo and supplies to the Gorgon Project, I am involved in the planning of these vessels and barges and their timely turnaround.We handle all manner of freight including construction equipment, vehicles, food, critical lifts, concrete foundations etc, it is my duty to ensure a safe damage free discharge of all cargo.There are many challenges not only working on a greenfield site but due to Barrow Island being an A Class nature reserve there are many constraints placed on us to ensure that all fauna and flora are not harmed, this restricts many operations that we perform, the challenge is to maintain productivity without compromising safety or the environment.As you can appreciate there are many deadlines that are to be met, to do this good planning and use of all labour and equipment must be maintained at all times.In this position I have been utilised in many varied roles, I have been responsible for supervising and managing the following departments on Barrow Island for Toll Energy:Warehouse, Laydown and Cranes and Rigging.

Manage loading and discharging of bulk vessels, allocate labour, manage cost centre, actively expand market share, manage contracts, liaise with clients, quotations, manage employees, provide reports to Corporate Office and State Manager, manage vessel arrivals and departures, manage the maintenance of machinery and the berth.This position required constant planning and consultation with our planning department, allocating vessels to berth, organising discharge and load sequences, ensuring and adequate mix of labour and equipment to achieve the fastest and most cost effective outcomes for both our clients and our company.

Utah Point is an Iron ore loading facility located in Port Hedland WA. It was a greenfield site at the time I started , this position required the management of construction, commissioning, transport and logistics, recruitment, and developing site specific safety procedures and operating procedures that are required to build and commission a new facility in the Pilbara.Utah Point began loading in September 2010 and it was my responsibility to build a team of competent individuals to manage the site and to also operate the in load and out load systems.Utah Point is a multiple product facility, this posed it own challenges in relation to ensuring clients products were stockpiled according to yard plan and to also eliminate cross contamination of products ie Iron Ore, Manganese and Chromite.Inload to the facility was by road train and we received upwards of 150 per day as the facility became operational.I was charged with managing contracts and liaising with clients, Port Authority management, shipping agents, POAGS management, Unions and all other relevant authorities and departments.
