I have worked in the IT industry since leaving University in 1996 having undertaken a brief role as a systems administrator at the Tasmanian Railway upon graduation. After a few years there, I co-founded my company IT Resourcing in order to fill what I perceived as significant gaps in the local IT market. Initially I worked in a variety of technical roles including systems, network and database administration. I also had an interest in software programming from Uni so developed a range of applications for our client base and provided ongoing support in that area with a small team. Eventually I employed other staff to undertake the majority of this front line work and focused on other areas of both our internal business which required some new skills (Finance, HR, etc) as well as providing more high-end consulting and management solutions for our broadening client base. Over the journey I have overseen the growth of IT Resourcing from a small fledgling company into one of the largest IT businesses in Northern Tasmania. It seems like a long time ago now, but I was particularly proud to have been awarded Dux of my college and voted by the student body as “person most likely to succeed”. I played a lot of sport when I was younger (had more time on my hands!) but am now happily married with two beautiful daughters and spend a lot of my free time with my family.
