My time at DWG Consulting Engineers in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina came to an end in December. Family matters caused a move back to Indiana. DWG is a full service consulting engineering firm that provides MEP and FP services as well as communications design, project commissioning, and construction administration. They pride themselves on being on the cutting edge of technology that is incorporated into building design and project documentation.DWG focuses on providing energy conscious designs for their clients. Projects encompass a wide range of commercial, government, educational, and medical facilities. Some of the biggest repeat clients are Coastal Carolina University, The Citadel, MUSC, and Roper Hospital and its associated medical office buildings.Previously I worked at LWC, Inc. in Richmond, Indiana, for 21 years. I started as an electrical draftsman and little by little began doing parts of the electrical design under the guidance and instruction of the head engineer. Eventually I was responsible for all lighting, electrical, and telecommunications design and calculations, specification writing, and construction document production for our design firm. In my last five years with the firm I switched from AutoCAD to Revit for the production of the drawings.Over the 21 years with LWC, I worked on approximately 225 projects. The majority of these were in the Pre-K through high school market, but I also worked on a dozen airport projects. The largest airport project included a baggage conveyor and sorting addition, as well as renovations to the airline ticket counters and security check point to meet new TSA standards.Additionally I worked on courthouse renovations and other government facility buildings.
Listed skills include Leed Ap Bd+C, Lighting Design, Lighting Calculations Using The Visual Software, Stage Lighting Design, and 25 others.
