Summer Research InternStatistical Visual Computing Lab, Ucsd Dec 2017 - Sep 2018Worked on relative size comparison of objects in images. As a part of this project, we explored several state of the art deep learning techniques to study influence of depth and instance segmentation on size approximation. Since this is a relatively unexplored problem, the focus of the internship was to build a baseline. The final product was a baseline algorithm using siamese networks that compared objects detected by maskrcnn with a success rate of 60%.
