• My duties involve using the online database EDGE and programs such as Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, iPortal, Redcap and shared drives.• Extracting study data from EDGE and producing reports in Excel to present performance figures at Trust level.• Ensuring study data is correct and up to date, following up data queries, liaising with research practitioners and the Clinical Research Network to ensure that our figures are correct.• Upkeep of CVs and GCP certificates for all staff that work on our studies and arranging renewals when their dates have expired.• Creating Case Report Forms and patient facing documents such as symptoms diaries for our internally sponsored studies.• I have recently undertaken the role of Data Coordinator for one of our internally sponsored studies, whereby I am responsible for uploading patient data to the database and ensuring all the data is correct and complete.• I have recently been supporting our delivery administrators with data entry for one of our COVID-19 studies, entering data onto the Redcap system and extracting patient data from iPortal.• Training new staff on how to EDGE specifically for their job roles.• Create and edit tables, graphs, and reports to distribute performance data across departments.• Attending Research Oversight Group meeting within our network.• Attending EDGE working group meeting within our network.• Liaising with sponsors and other institutions to follow up data queries.• General administration duties.• During lockdown I was redeployed to work at the Clinical Education Centre where I arranged room bookings for nurse bank training and COVID testing.• I am the Wellbeing Champion for my department – this involves writing and producing a bi-monthly newsletter that is distributed across our department, the format of which has received high praise and has been adopted for other departments around the trust.

My main role was processing amendments to studies which were open, I also processed any amendments to contracts. This entailed having to liaise with research practitioners, admins, consultants, and various support services. I had also taken on the role of EDGE administrator alongside this role after the departure of the EDGE administrator and Data Manager, which involved adding new studies to the EDGE system, running reports on performance statistics, missing data etc. and presenting the data on spread sheets to disseminate among the research teams. I also wrote up letters of access to allow staff from outside of our organization to engage in research here. I had been updating our GCP spread sheet and folders to ensure that staff were up to date with their GCP training. I also carried out various admin tasks for the study setup team such as localising documents and facilitating the setup of smaller, PhD studies.

I cared for elderly residents suffering with a wide range of illnesses such as Parkinson's Disease, stroke, chronic pain, learning difficulties and mental health problems such as depression and dementia. As senior care assistant I oversaw a team of six care assistants, working alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals at times.
