I delivered new British Airways (BA) 'head office' IT systems using combined internal and global resource teams and frequently having to replace large, complex and integrated in-house systems with 'Software as a Service' (SaaS) from third party specialists.The major projects I delivered include:- The replacement of BA’s existing and numerous learning and performance systems with a single, third party ‘Learning And Performance’ SaaS supplier.- The creation of a new interface between BA’s principle HR System and a third-party Payroll SaaS supplier, as part of the programme to replace BA’s in-house payroll system.- Significant change to BA’s principle HR System to facilitate replacing BA’s in-house payroll system with a third-party Payroll SaaS supplier.- Implementation of a new web based application for managing BA’s Staff Travel Concessions following a complete overhaul of BA’s Staff Travel policies.- Loaded historic training records managed locally throughout the world using disparate, bespoke solutions to BA’s principle HR system. - Decommissioned a legacy HR mainframe system having replaced staff travel functionality with a web-based application to manage Staff Travel Concessions and having replaced the legacy mainframe feeds with feeds from BA’s principle HR system.As well as delivering IT projects, I was a nominated reviewer of other projects for adherence to BA’s IT Delivery Processes.

I led an IT Support team that was responsible for over thirty applications used by BA’s Contact Centres worldwide. I managed the delivery of front line support using a pooled resource of up to fourteen team members, was the first point of escalation and co-ordinated the resolution of major incidents. I reported monthly on the service provided by the team against agreed Service Level Agreements to both internal customers and IT Senior Managers. I owned, organised, and participated in a rota providing 24*7 support of BA’s Contact Centres’ Fulfilment systems.

Assigned to British Airways and was part of a team that successfully built and installed a complex, Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) system for BA’s call centres. I was responsible for the coding and testing of discrete areas of functionality. I gained experience of coding in C++, and also developed prototypes and final programs using Microsoft Visual Basic.

I managed all aspects of commercialising Maxwell Davidson Ltd’s innovative, in-house, engineering ideas. I delivered a varied portfolio of projects including, biochemical engineering processes, composite materials, chemical engineering plant, agricultural machinery and aviation equipment. I worked closely with several potential licensee companies, the University of Edinburgh and the Commission of the European Communities. I spent eighteen months working for a licensee company in Kenya, which required a high degree of self-reliance and resourcefulness. I also spent a year in Arizona, USA, working on a company start up with an American licensee.I achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status following acceptance by 'The Institution of Chemical Engineers'.

I worked on chemical and biochemical engineering projects to optimise technically and develop existing manufacturing processes for the RHM Group of food companies.
