The Bridge is conceived as an inclusive, sustainable and locally-integrated theatre, connecting multilingual Brussels to English-language talent. It uses the power of theatre to promote social cohesion and progressive values. The Bridge produces and receives thought-provoking and relevant plays that respond interculturally to the diverse Brussels populace. The Bridge is more than just a venue and a producing house. It interacts with the local community through learning and participation activities, linking workshops in schools and in the community with productions to introduce children and adults to English-language theatre and the performing arts. Being a native of the capital, I chose to do my internship at The Bridge Theatre in order to support the communication branch but also to be able to give a strategic opinion on the development of a theatre in Brussels.
