This internship of the 1st year Master was performed at Bürkert in the section of special systems and prototyping. Bürkert is a specialist for measurement, control and regulation of fluid systems. Four projects are treated. The first, the main project, was the development of a new concept of dosage for a cocktail maker. Several alternatives are described to be offered to the customer and where the best one is completely designed and its cost calculated. The second project is the design of a control board to a microcontroller with the purpose of driving four stepper motors. Programming the controller in TMCL language was the major part of this work. Next we come to the analysis of a pump that is currently sold but has a dosing problem. Finding the sources of the problems and its corrections were the major part of this project. And the final project is about designing and constructing a Stirling engine. This project was started after my training with Solidworks when the permission to manufacture the parts of the engine was then given. All these projects have made of the internship a very interesting and entertaining experience with an overview of all the skills of Bürkert.

In an internship of six-month in the company FRIMA T SAS a project in product development, which began in April 2013, was assigned to me. FRIMA develops, manufactures and markets the VarioCooking Center ®. It's is a multifunctional cooking device for the use in professional kitchens. Comparing the VarioCooking Center® to other devices in its sector, it has by far the best heating system, but the pressure cooking system can be improved.In a VIP (predevelopment innovation process), the pressure system was reworked. New approaches, different concepts for the valves, sensors and steam condenser were created. In a first step, researches and a brainstorming were made. For the evaluation and validation of the concepts, several elements were tested or mathematically described. In collaboration with companies in the area of fluid control, different concepts have been developed. At the end of the Bachelor thesis, based on a rating, the best concept was prepared for the next step in of the product development.
