I obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2019 after achieving a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction with a major in finance and a minor in economics. My legal practice is focused on Family Law, dealing with issues affecting both married and unmarried couples, including divorce, parenting, support, division of property, prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, and protection orders. I am also uniquely focused on separations involving high conflict parenting disputes, and business and farm assets as a result of my undergraduate and pre-law experience in finance and accounting. My goal is to help families transition through what is generally a very stressful and difficult period of their lives. To do this I endeavour to provide clear and concise legal advice so that clients can understand their position and pursue resolution most efficiently and effectively. I prioritize pursuing negotiation and out-of-court resolution as it will most often result in an outcome that is more equitable and easily obtained than that provided through litigation. However, if no reasonable resolution can be reached, I am prepared to litigate in court to advance a client’s needs. I work diligently to remain current on changes in the law by regularly attending legal education courses, Canadian Bar Association seminars, and being engaged with legal research centers. These efforts allow me to provide the best possible services to my clients. I joined BARR LLP in 2022. BARR LLP is highly regarded for its quality service in Family Law. I am proud to be a part of the BARR LLP Family Law group with its wealth of knowledge and years of expertise from which to draw. BARR LLP also provides corporate/commercial legal services and criminal defence. This allows me to rely on an expansive pool of legal experts when serving clients saving time, money, and stress. I also have a diverse range of interests that I enjoy outside of my legal practice. I am an outdoor enthusiast participating in activities such as rock climbing, hiking/scrambling, and mountain biking. I also enjoy backpacking and travelling for it allows me to experience and learn from many cultures around the world.
