I have always been fascinated and touched by the diversity that our planet holds. From a very early age, I would devour entire encyclopedias on everything from trees and plants to insects or dinosaurs. Soon after this, I became passionate about culture and history. Because I grew up feeling so connected to our planet, its peoples and all the different forms of life that it holds, working for a sustainable future became the obvious choice for my professional life.My career is driven by my will to positively impact our world, and I find myself thriving when right in the middle of the action. To me, working in fast pace work environments is highly motivating. Being at the center of change provides me with deep, often humbling teachings that nourish my creativity in developing sound and inclusive solutions to meet desired goals. My ideal professional endeavor involves collaborative path-finding, progressing through uncharted territories as a member of a community. This is why I felt compelled to offer my support as a Briefing Officer to bridge the interim period leading to the arrival of my branch's new Assistant Deputy Minister and her team. As a Policy Analyst, I seek to develop new initiatives to allow my team to leverage the increase in traction that our policy files are gaining. Recently, I developed and promoted a project to survey Open Science practices inside my Department that was approved and implemented. This allowed my team to gain a head start in fulfilling new requirements to engage internally and strengthened our role as a center of expertise for the federal government.I believe that when in the middle of the action, being a positive leader is key. My optimism and my strong belief in what I work for allow me to bring people together in doing great things. Thanks to this, I was able to bring unprecedented success to the Écofête, a flea-market and sustainability fair, with the 2017 edition gathering around 10 000 participants. These qualities also served me well in developing a process to allow Montrealers to organize hundreds of clean-up drives every year, gathering 19 000 participants in 2017 alone. In sum, I am driven by a desire to positively impact the world, both on a social and environmental level.
