I am a Masters student of Architecture at the University of Queensland. Originally from Mauritius, I ventured to Australia to seek the necessary knowledge and experience to achieve my career goals. My passion for architecture started at an early age through art and a deep curiosity for the natural and built environment. I started my education in Melbourne, where I completed my Diploma in Building and Construction which included a Certificate IV in Carpentry. The experience proved to be very enriching, having had the opportunity to learn the basics of Architecture through hands-on learning of Carpentry paralleled with building codes and regulations. My curiosity was then enhanced on how to better design creatively, engaging with communities and the socio-economical aspect of Architecture which led me to the completion of a Bachelor of Architecture. During my Bachelor, my work was selected for a Micro-house exhibition in the Scenic Rim. I was then, later sponsored by Griffith University for a concept design for the resilient renovation of the Administration Office of the Whitsundays Council and I was also placed third for the design competition of the Botanical Gardens organised by the Gold Coast City Council. In the final step of my architectural education, I am looking for a role that would enable me to complement education and practice to better arm myself for the building industry. I am really excited and motivated to engage myself in the challenges of our planet, desperate to contribute to make the world a better place to live.
