As a Principal at The Rainier Group (now Coldstream Wealth Management) I directed the firm's client service culture, influenced and executed the firm's strategic growth initiatives, and served as a key member of the Investment Policy Committee and Management Committee. I directly managed investment portfolios for private clients, nonprofits, trusts and corporations. For three decades prior to its acquisition by Coldstream in 2017, the Rainier Group, Inc. was a boutique consulting and investment advisory firm that helped business owners and individuals achieve their business transition and wealth management objectives.

As a founding director in 2002 and as the firm's first Chief Investment Officer, I helped create and implement the strategy, discipline, policies and messaging for the advisory affiliate and corporate trustee created in 2002 to serve the partners and clients of the largest law firm headquartered in Washington State. I directly managed relationships for high net worth individuals, trusts, foundations and endowments.

During my time with Wells Fargo and its predecessors I managed portfolios for over 400 individual clients, trusts, and corporations as a Senior Investment Officer. Prior to this role I co-managed a Core Growth equity mutual fund and collective funds and performed individual equity analysis. My buy-side career began at First Interstate Bank of Washington analyzing investment performance for institutional clients, designing marketing materials and producing investment communications.

During high school I was employed at the Hanford nuclear site as a computer programmer (Pascal and Fortran). This job is probably not relevant to most people who are reading my Linked In page, but I think having a Level 5 (of 6) national security clearance from the Department of Energy as a teenager is pretty cool!
