• Specified and purchased a RPET sheet line with bottle flake degassing and in-line lamination and 2 recycling lines for padded polystyrene trays.

• Responsible for product development for 6 manufacturing units of Cascades including polystyrene foam (2), rigid plastics, plastic lumber and moulded cellulose (2) across Canada and the US. Launched more than 30 new.
• Developed the first ever line of polystyrene meat trays made with 25% recycled content leading to significant cost savings and additional sales. Recipient of the 2014 Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA).
• Formulated a foamed RPET sheet that allowed the company to compete against lighter materials in the commodity mushroom tills market. Recipient of the 2015 CPIA Sustainability Award.
• Designed a value-added, multilayer barrier RPET/PE line of trays for meat packaging, gaining a lot of ground on incumbent PP-based trays.
• Granted 4 patents for various tray designs and packaging processes.
• Supported the sales with training, customer presentations, troubleshooting and product qualification.

• Responsible for product development and process optimization for a polystyrene foam extrusion and thermoforming plant. Developed my continuous improvement and product design skills in a manufacturing setting. Learned.
• Designed a new line of customizable polystyrene foam plates and bowls for food service.
• Shared best practices with sister manufacturing facility in US.

• Provided technical assistance and analytical expertise to different Cascades division over a wide range of products and processes related to packaging and recycling. One-of-a-kind opportunity to get accustomed with.
• Co-developed a water-based moisture barrier coating technology that is still used today by Cascades.
• Represented Cascades on the Recycled Paperboard Technical Association.
• Interim Supervisor for the laboratory team for 6+ months (team of 20 scientists).
• Managed Wet-End Chemistry and Packaging Compliance groups for 2+ years.
