Responsible for product development for 6 manufacturing units of Cascades including polystyrene foam (2), rigid plastics, plastic lumber and moulded cellulose (2) across Canada and the US. Launched more than 30 new products over 6 years, now accounting for more than 50% of this business sales.• Developed the first ever line of polystyrene meat trays made with 25% recycled content leading to significant cost savings and additional sales. Recipient of the 2014 Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) Sustainability Award.• Formulated a foamed RPET sheet that allowed the company to compete against lighter materials in the commodity mushroom tills market. Recipient of the 2015 CPIA Sustainability Award.• Designed a value-added, multilayer barrier RPET/PE line of trays for meat packaging, gaining a lot of ground on incumbent PP-based trays.• Granted 4 patents for various tray designs and packaging processes.• Supported the sales with training, customer presentations, troubleshooting and product qualification.• Introduced the concept of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) to focus development on sustainable initiatives and as marketing tool.• Presented LCA finding to 50+ associations and brand owners over 2 years.• Grew the R&D team with the hire of 2 technical managers and a designer.

Responsible for product development and process optimization for a polystyrene foam extrusion and thermoforming plant.
