The Student Union (SU) has the mission to promote the personal development and well-being of all students at the University of Twente (UT). The executive board gave the board of the SU the mandate to design policy for subjects that directly concern students. I was responsible for contact with the business community of the UT and beyond, and the strategy, vision and annual planning for the external affairs of the Student Union. Next to that, I worked on student entrepreneurship policy on the UT, in collaboration with e.g. the valorisation department Novel-T. The last part of the year, my focus was on integrating sustainability and innovation in the SU.

3.5 months internship to support a community development project in a rural environment. I constructed sports fields (volleyball, korfball and a small football pitch), gave training to youths, gave workshops about first aid to the staff of SRI and helped the community members setting up their own training sessions. Next to that, I worked on a field study exploring the effectiveness of sports to improve 21st-century skills among youths in a rural Kenyan environment. https://srikenya.org/
