I conducted my graduation project of my MSc Management of Technology at the Policy Analysis section of the department Multi Actor Systems, faculty Technology, Policy, and Management. Using my knowledge on innovation adoption and frugal healthcare, I developed framework to analyse the factors affecting the adoption of frugal health innovations. This pioneering work contributed to the acceleration of frugal health innovation adoption amongst individual customers and organisations.

As Bioengineering Process Developer I designed a bottom-up bioprocess for the production process of pharmaceutical peptides. Using my knowledge on microbial engineering and bioprocess design, I analysed heterologous expression systems, fermentation systems, and bioprocess parameters from a technical-, economic-, and regulatory perspective.

I conducted my graduation project of my MSc Life Science and Technology at the Industrial Microbiology section of the department Biotechnology, faculty Applied Sciences. Using my knowledge on microbial physiology and bio-informatics, I developed an anaerobic methodology to characterise the biochemistry of microorganisms present in microbial electrosynthesis consortia. This pioneering work contributed to the development of a bottom-up microbial electrosynthesis systems. Grade: 8.5.

Chairman of the Royal Institute Of Engineers (KIVI) Student board (KS). The aim of the board was to unite, connect, and represent all engineering students on a national basis, to broaden their network, empower their career, and help them to exploit their knowledge to contribute to solutions for societally relevant problems. As chairman I contributed most to the mission and vision of the board, ensure that the goals of the board were realized, the outreach to students, student associations, universities, and companies, setup and host relevant events, and broadcast the existence of the board through interviews and presentations with/for universities and engineering companies.

Community Officer of the first year MSc Life Science and Technology degree at the Delft University of Technology. As Community Officer I helped and guided the first year master students with their education and was their first point of contact for administrative and educational related issues.

As alumnus of the iGEM Entrepreneurship Program and Innovation Community (EPIC) I learned the necessary skills to transform the iGEM 2021 project AptaVita into a startup. I acquired entrepreneurial-, managerial-, strategic-, and financial skills and learned to work with relevant models and tools to present to venture capitalists.

Team Captain of the iGEM 2021 TUDelft team. The iGEM competition is a global competition inviting student teams from all around the world to engineer a solution for a societally relevant problem through synthetic biology. As Team Leader I led the 2021 team from the Delft University of Technology. Our team developed a quantitative, modular and rapid diagnostic test for vitamin deficiencies used at the point-of-care called AptaVita. This aptazyme-based device, containing dedicated readout hardware, could help accelerate the data obtention on vitamin deficiencies to combat hidden hunger more effectively. As Team Leader I was responsible for the overall vision of the project, the realization of the overall project goals, project management, and project module alignment and integration. A good understanding of all different components (engineering design, modeling, human practices, entrepreneurship, amongst others) was required from my part. Contributions besides leading the team include modeling of the biomolecular network and subsequent laboratory interpretations, acquisitions, human practices, and entrepreneurship.Our team came in second in the overall global competition and won 2 project prices.

Teaching assistant for the second year course of the BSc Life Science and Technology “Microbial Physiology”. As teaching assistant I was responsible for the documentation of the modeling component of the course and the assistance of the related practical workshops.

I conducted my graduation project of my BSc Life Science and Technology at the Industrial Microbiology section of the department Biotechnology, faculty Applied Sciences. Using my knowledge on quantitative microbial physiology, metabolic engineering, and mathematics, I developed a computational model predicting the stability of a symbiotic microbial co-culture. Taking practical conditions and metabolic limitations into account, this predictive model gave a first suggestion towards the outcome of practical laboratory work on related symbiotic microbial co-cultures. Grade: 9.0.

Teaching assistant for the second year course of the BSc Life Science and Technology “Quantum Physics”. As teaching assistant I was responsible for the grading of midterms and exams, guiding theoretical workshops and mentoring the students.
