PBI provides protection, support and recognition to local human rights defenders who work in areas of repression and conflict. Working through an integrated approach, it combines a presence alongside human rights defenders on the ground with an extensive network of international support. PBI project in Colombia seeks to open space for peace, conflict transformation and the defence of human rights in a highly complex transitional context. As a field volunteer, I participate in analysis of the political situation, and accompanying physically human rights defenders. Also, I take part in meetings with civil and military authorities at the local and national level, and with the diplomatic corps, sharing concerns and informing the outside world about human rights abuses.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree Programme in International Humanitarian Action is an inter-university multidisciplinary postgraduate programme that provides high quality academic education and professional competences for personnel intending to work in the area of humanitarian action. In this context, I studied one semester at Aix-Marseille University specialised in Public international law (international humanitarian law, human rights, refugee law, environmental law) and international criminal law, geopolitics, legal anthropology, project methodology. I spent my second semester at University College Dublin (Ireland), where I studied research methodology applied to localising the humanitarian action effort, resilience policy and practice, and addressing gender-based violence in emergencies.After writing my Master's thesis on the avenues for national reconciliation opened by the transitional justice system after the 2016 Peace Agreement signed between the Government of Colombia and the FARC-EP, I finally studied at the Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia, in Peace studies and Conflict resolution.

As an intern in the programme area, I participated in the peace education programme in the Ignatian educational network. I also took part in the revision of the JRS national security and protection protocol. Finally, I conducted research and analysis on the normative framework and the Colombian Constitutional Court's jurisprudence on guarantees of access to the right to education and health for Venezuelan migrant children and adolescents in Colombia.

I designed and delivered lessons to kindergarten and elementary students, including students that don't speak French and/or with disabilities such as cognitive and hearing impairment, autism, and behavioral disorders. For one year, I also worked within the RASED (Réseau d'aides spécialisées aux élèves en difficulté), a specialized program for students experiencing educational difficulties: I trained them on fundamental skills to help them advance in their education. Most of the schools I have worked in are in socially disadvantaged and multicultural neighbourhoods.
