At this moment, I’m a CEGEP student completing a degree in Arts and Sciences at Collège André-Grasset. This program is a combination of the better-known programs Natural Sciences and Human Sciences. Indeed, I am a curious person who’s always looking forward to being well-rounded in multiple fields. My academic and work experiences have taught me to work until I achieve my goals which obliges me to dedicate many hours of my time to a specific task. For example, I’m always studying weeks in advance before an exam to ensure my success and to manage my stress which increases with the midterms approaching. Also, I try to combine both my education and extracurricular activities in my daily life which forces me to be hardworking and have efficient time management. Since ninth grade, I have been working at my father’s pharmacy. This taught me humility, as my father made sure he behaved towards me like with every other employee, and to put myself in the place of others. In fact, when my father asked me if I could come in because he was short on staff, I couldn’t resign myself to decline as I knew the pressure the labor shortage puts on him. During the COVID pandemic, I worked in a medical clinic where I oversaw appointment verification with patients and sanitary protocols such as changing masks when entering the building and disinfecting with hand sanitizer. There, I learned compassion and how small gestures can make a difference in other people’s lives. In the future, I intend to be a doctor. I would like to specialize in public health or clinical pathology. These fields suit my personality as I’m always looking forward to learning about recent discoveries and scientific advances. Later on, I would enjoy being the one who transmits knowledge to others as I look forward to a job where I can educate the population on their health.
