About Mathilde Hoarau
During my university training, I have had the opportunity to discover not only the French and European legal systems, but also the discipline of public international law, which I am passionate about. I am committed to protecting the environment, particularly the marine environment, and I would like at work on the intersection between international environmental law and the law of the sea. My final dissertation precisely deals with the necessity to adapt international law of the sea, more precisely the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, to the Anthropocene era. It assesses the need to attribute rights to the marine environment in order to improve its protection and, a fortiori, our society's resilience in the face of the challenges of the Anthropocene. The LL.M Public International Law awarded me an honourable mention for this contribution.
