I am currently in my 5th and last year of Space Design at Strate. I am looking for a 4 to 6 months internship in space design and architecture starting late June/early July that will provide real-life experience in the architectural field.I always imagined myself as an architect since I was a little kid, dreaming of designing my ideal house and being fascinated by theatres and big shows. However, it’s the human factor and the way people behave in spaces that motivates me and why I chose to study at Strate.These last five years I discovered many techniques and tools from live drawing, sketching, painting, to sculpture, to model making and 3D modeling, thereof laying a solid foundation to becoming a designer. The most valuable lesson I have learned from Strate is that everything should be designed by humans for humans. Working in groups has helped me voice my opinions and open myself to different ideas. In addition, I learned to communicate my ideas through drawing before moving on to different supports. I continue to build skills in Autocad, Rhino, and the Adobe package. My classes in Eco-Design and materials help me gain a bigger understanding of environmental concerns and the importance of using resources wisely.
