Assessing the restoration status of restored aggregate and quarry pits in Southern Ontario. Specifically researching how carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus ratios (C:N:P) in plants and soils change between and within restored sites. Does C:N:P improve with increasing restoration age?

Learned how to process soil samples (bulk density, organic matter, particle size analysis, pH).

Our research focuses on two ponds located on the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus. One is a stormwater management pond and the other is a natural pond. We take water quality and water samples weekly to investigate chemical and thermal stratification and compare how they differ in both ponds.
