As an international consultant for the International Trade Centre, I supported the implementation of the newly lauched UK Trade Partnerships Programme (UKTP). UKTP is a trade for development programme funded by UK Aid ( £17M) spanning accross 9 countries in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific The programme is supporting SMEs in EPA-eligible countries to improve their knowledge on UK and EU market-access requirement, enhance their competitiveness, and create market linkages with British and European buyers. I was in charge of developping the programme gender mainstreaming strategy, ensuring that the programme maximizes opportunities for women and disadvantaged groups. I coordinated support to project managers in integrating these objectives into their project strategy and developing gender-sensitive activities for SMEs, producer associations/cooperatives, and trade support institutions.
