Accountable for 8 software engineering teams counting 40+ members focusing on devops developing and running a Kubernetes-based PaaS with batteries included: CI, CD, observability, service discovery, databases, messaging, public HTTP ingress, UDP ingress/egress, application framework, multi-cloud and on-premise abstractions, etc.My role:- Foster a high autonomy, high ownership engineering culture.- Build and delegate feedback loops throughout the organization.- Provide and communicate 1+ year technical vision.- Build and drive processes around quarterly planning and deliveries.- Compensation review and increase, performance reviews, interviewing, hiring and firing with my direct reports.- Coached and successfully promoted multiple ICs to both more senior positions as well as towards management.Together we:- Run telecommunication SaaS such as GoToMeeting, GoToConnect, GoToWebinar, GoToStage, and many smaller products with high performance and uptime requirement achieved 99.9989% uptime in 2021.- Support around 600 software engineers developing against our PaaS based in the US, Canada, Germany, Hungary, and India with low to no blocker to their SDLC.- Forecast financial and hardware procurement based on capacity planning.

Responsible for scaling both our Kubernetes-based PaaS, the teams developing and running it, as well as the rapidly growing microservice-based platform powering Jive/GoToConnect.My role:- Implement processes to effectively run bigger teams, multiple teams, within rapidly growing organizations. Oncall, sprint/quarterly planning, career growth, capacity planning, feedback loops with key stakeholders,- Interview and hire candidates for my team(s) from 3 to 22 members.Personally conduct and coach my managers to run performance improvement plan, to success and to termination.- Drive to short term then long term resolution higher profile incidents.- Participate in design and implement SOC2-compliant processes for the company.Together we scaled:- Our product user base from 80k to +1M.- Kubernetes from 4 clusters to 10+ in our production environments around the world, orchestrating 14K containers.- Database operations from a single to 60 different PostreSQL database clusters on-premise running Kubernetes, on a total of 800 instances.- Kafka operations from 0 to 110B message a day - Provided architectural guidance to product engineering teams to build a robust multi-cluster active-active product.- Foster and develop the “devops” culture with our product software engineers peers while supporting their growth from 80 to 250 members.

Design, implement and run a PaaS based on Kubernetes in Go to support the creation of the product’s microservice infrastructure. Includes multi-clusters management, service discovery, custom CNI to support direct routing for UDP (for VOIP protocols like SIP, RTP, RTCP) and HTTP public ingress, logs, metrics, tracing and CI/CD all in single consistent Product Engineering experience on-premise.

Development of configuration management automation for NetScaler, NetApp and an alerting framework for the platform in Ruby and Python.
