Senior Resident, Department of Radiation Oncology All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur, India Jan 2017–May 2019 • The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur is a medical college and research university located in central India. It is also the leading tertiary care centre in the state of Chhattisgarh, India In this role, I consulted with patients of the Outpatient Department (OPD), making diagnoses, finalising clinical decisions, coordinating investigative procedures and planning patient treatment and discharge. My clinical duties involved chemotherapy administration, including drug preparation and delivery. I oversaw oncological emergencies and devised solutions for treatment-related side effects. This role polished my time management, prioritisation and organisational skills. • In addition, I was involved in the pain and palliative care management of advanced-stage cancer patients, with whom I enjoyed good relationships; • I actively participated in a number of departmental academic activities and audits and contributed eagerly to various studies and research papers published in several reputed journals.• I was part of the Institute’s team from the time the Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator was first installed until its radiation oncology department was fully realised. I have a sound understanding of the various processes involved in radiation safety, and, as part of the radiation treatment planning team, I worked alongside many cancer patients. Through this experience, I found I am able to effectively balance high patient loads. • The majority of our patient cases involved breast cancers, gynaecological cancers, head cancers, lung cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma, melanoma and sarcoma, and we had very few cases of paediatric cancers and ocular cancers.

Jamnagar Area, India

Junior Resident, Department of Radiation Oncology Aug 2014–Aug 2016 M. P. Shah Medical College (in association with the Irwin Group of Hospitals), Jamnagar, India • The M. P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar is the second largest hospital complex in the state of Gujarat and a leading tertiary care and referral medical centre in Saurashtra, catering to a large population in the western part of India. Approximately 300 patients visited our OPD every day. In this role, I developed my skills in treating cancer patients, followed up on them after the initial consultation, prepared their therapy plans and guided them over several weeks of daily treatment. I performed on-call and ward duties and solved oncological emergencies. Further, I single-handedly oversaw 40 rounds of chemotherapy each day, and I performed a total of 30 brachytherapy treatments for cervix and endometrium cancer patients. • Most of the cases in our radiation oncology clinic involved breast, gynaecological, gastrointestinal, prostate, head- and neck-region and lung cancers as well as lymphoma, sarcoma and melanoma, and we saw very few cases of paediatric cancers and multiple myeloma. • I was involved in my dissertation preparation and led numerous presentations, research retreats, seminars, case discussions and journal club meetings.• I cared for 100 to 200 oncology patients every day, coordinating their treatments and assessing associated complications.THESIS PAPER An Ultrasonographic Evaluation of Skin Thickness in Breast Cancer Patients after postmastectomy Radiation Therapy.
