My work related tasks were highly varying and included e.g. assisting the MP with the legislative work at the Parliament, compiling necessary documentation, writing drafts for speeches and letters to the press, and keeping in touch with interest groups, companies and voters.The MP acted as Parliamentary Group leader until May 2015. In addition to my above mentioned tasks I gained a good insight into the work of the Parliamentary Group and the Government as I worked in close cooperation with the staff of the Swedish Parliamentary Group and with our ministerial staff. www.parliament.fi

As chair of the Student Union's Financial Board I was in charge of leading the boards activities. The activities of the Council of Europe focus on human rights, democracy and rule of law issues. My assignments at the Finnish Permanent Representation, where I worked for three months as a trainee, included meeting preparations, taking part in meetings and reporting from meetings.I participated in the Committee of Minister's meetings and in various meetings of its rapporteur groups dealing with the Council of Europe's programme and budget, judicial and human rights issues, social, political and democracy issues, and in the EU coordination. In addition my assignments included following and participating in the reporting of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly session, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities and the European Roma and Travellers Forum's Plenary Assembly.Main working languages: English and Finnish.

The Institute for Human Rights has annually arranged an Advanced Course of the International Protection of Human Rights, with participants and lecturers participating from all around the world. The course is composed of lectures, case studies in working-groups, seminars and an optional, academic essay.As the Course Assistant my main task was to assist with and take care of the coordination of different tasks related to the arrangement of the Course. I was also in charge of many routine duties at the Institute when the permanently employed were on their summer holidays. Main working languages: English and Swedish.

As student financial aid secretary my main tasks included advising students with questions related to the student financial aid, the reception of applications for student financial aid, the examining of these applications and finally, deciding whether the applications were granted or not. I started as a trainee and continued after that on part-time. During the summer holidays of the regular staff I worked independently and was in charge of the processing of all applications. Main working language: Swedish and Finnish.

At the immigration office I worked with various tasks related to licences and permits for foreigners. I advised applicants with e.g. questions related to the renewal of fixed term residence permits, the application of permanent residence permits and the registration of an EU citizen’s residence permit. I was also in charge of the reception and the examination of these applications. Finally, in situations where the applications met all requirements I was in charge of making the final (positive) decision. Main working language: English and Finnish.

I advised applicants with their applications and was in charge of the reception of applications. I also made some necessary preparations to all applications before they could be sent forward. I worked mainly with firearms licence applications but also with applications for driving licences, passports and identity cards. In the latter categories I was also in charge of making the final decisions. Working language: Finnish, Swedish and Enlish.
