I love understanding the way the world works at its most fundamental level, and during my life this has led me on a long adventure through the physical sciences to my current fascination with synthetic organic chemistry. Chemical synthesis is awesome - it's tangible and tactile, like cooking with chemicals, but it also allows me to watch and learn about the way molecules interact with and transform each other. I am currently studying for a DPhil (the Oxford equivalent of a PhD) under Professor Stephen Fletcher at the University of Oxford, and my research focusses on the synthesis of substituted azetidines by Rhodium-catalysed cross coupling reactions.
