Retail store managers (shoes) oversee day-to-day operations for their store. They are in charge of hiring the staff members who work in their store, supervising staff performance, and working with customers directly, including assisting in any sales as needed. These managers must be familiar with the products sold in their store and any current and upcoming sales and promotions. They are responsible for maintaining the appearance of their store, including floor displays, shoes, window advertisements, and window displays. They also oversee all monetary transactions and cash registers, including ensuring all safety procedures are followed. They also are in charge of keeping track of all inventory for the store and supervising the receipt of new merchandise.Retail store manager (shoes) positions often require prior retail management experience.
