As a senior developer in the consulting arm of the company I was often involved in small to medium scale solutions and customized processes to meet our clients needs. As a subject matter expert I would often be involved from design to implementation and at time also in maintenance. The role often called for a full stack development effort, from user interface to database processing and everything in between.

My continued work with Callista clients, often on site, was rewarded with a senior promotion. My role was primarily as a subject matter expert, with this often came solution design, business analysis, problem analysis, defect resolution and increasingly toward the end of this period I was also involved again with development.During this period I was almost permanently allocated to our newest client - Victoria University. There I was involved in a number of teams on a number of internal projects including- Initial implementation of Callista SMS and Admissions and student portals.- Data Migration- Customized web interface development and design- Problem solving and resolution- Assisting business with internal and government reporting- Development of wholly new Statement of Account process and interface***About Callista***Callista specialises in the provision of student management services to the Australian tertiary education sector. Callista prides itself on a collaborative model whereby clients regularly interact and work together to grow and direct the core product suite as best suits their needs. At it's peak Callista employed some 100+ staff and continues to be the core operating software for over a quarter of the Australian tertiary sector. Callista was purchased by Tribal Software UK as part of it's global expansion in 2015.

With more experience in the Oracle technology stack and continued exposure to the Callista product suite I was promoted to Software Engineer. With my additional responsibilities I was also able to have a greater say in solution design and gained further knowledge of the extensive Callista database and systems.During this period I was asked to join the Consulting team and was involved in several projects, including:Avondale college, implementation project (January 2008 - mid 2009)Deakin University, SMS upgrade project (periodic between 2008 and 2010)Victoria University, implementation project (April 2009 - 2012)Additional requirements for a Software Engineer at Callista:- Participate in the analysis and design of Callista software including database and technical design.- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of systems and software documentation.- Provide mentoring for software development staff - Act as a Technical Lead who assigns tasks and manages appropriate staff; as required.- Recommend appropriate technical training; as required.- Recommend and formulate (if required)new standards.- Participate in the preparation and enhancement of technical work instructions and documentation.- Assist in establishing contents and timeframes of deliverables, project planning and execution.- Provide regular reporting to appropriate Manager/Project Manager.- Participate in software demonstrations, as required.- Participate in client consulting assignments, as required- Assist in assessment of software products, as required.- Assist in formulating Tender responses, as required.- Participate in research and proof of concept work in relation to technologies, practices and product opportunities that could benefit the Callista product suiteand operational support

I started with Callista as an analyst programmer via their graduate intake program. In this period I worked on a number of medium/large projects mainly using the traditional waterfall development model. My duties included: - Participate in the development and enhancement of Callista software in accordance with documented Callista methodologies.- Participate in analysis and design reviews.- Participate in peer code reviews- impact analysis and unit testing.- Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer for software development staff.- Engage with customers and assist in developing and maintaining good customer relationships.- Participate in client consulting assignments as required.- To take responsibility for effective implementation of a personal development plan including developing skills required for career progression.- To manage time effectively to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner.- To participate in the collective team process.- To participate in the maintenance and support of Callista Software; include problem analysis and resolution.- To participate in and contribute to knowledge sharing forums as required- To participate in the assembling of software releases as required.- Monitor the development progress of system components for compliance with the development plan for own deliverables
