I am Lecturer in Engineering Management in the School of Engineering at The University of Edinburgh, and Deputy Director of the Institute for the Study of Science, Technology and Innovation. I am also Deputy Director for Festival Futures and The New Real at Edinburgh Futures Institute. I work closely with colleagues in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group and in the Science, Technology and Innovation Studies group. My background is in Physics and I specialised in Astronomy and Astronomical Technology and later innovation studies, examining high-tech fields, especially space and satellite, artificial intelligence and biotech. My primary research is concerned with Innovation process management, Intermediation and strategies / futures. I lead several international projects and am involved in several start-ups. I also have a vast experience in science communication in a variety of projects and I am always happy to speak to people about the work I do or my other interests.
