About M.A. (Tony) Lane

Objective: To make a career change and move out of a 39 year career in Automotive to go into hospital/clinical administration. I have been volunteering in the medical field specializing in HIV/AIDS since 2006 and have enjoyed the medical field, which has lead to this career change decision.I have taken this opportunity to educate myself in the health care industry by completing a Certification in Executive Leadership for Health Care Professionals from Cornell University and taking numerous courses focusing on health care from prominent Universities as seen in the education section of my profile. I have also taken the opportunities to earn several Certifications as seen in my Certification section.I bring to the table vast experience sitting on the Board of Directors for several different non-profits including being Board President. I also have vast experience working with governmental agencies as the Chairman of a Federal Resource Advisory Committee for the Department of Agriculture, United States Forest Service and Madera/Mariposa Counties, along with being involved with HRSA reviews of the HIV/AIDS Clinic that I work with at our teaching hospital for the University of San Francisco.I take working in the medical field very seriously in that I have traveled to Washington D.C. to be part of a team presenting at the Voices National HIV/AIDS Conference in 2009. While back in Washington D.C. I lobbied Congressional Representatives for the continued funding of the Ryan White Care Act.In 2011 I testified before the Presidential Commission on HIV/AIDS to help form the National HIV/AIDS Policy that was released in July 2011.I have also sat on numerous panels dealing with HIV/AIDS along with being a focus group member for Gilead Pharmaceuticals on HIV Medications.I also take every opportunity that I can to attend lectures sponsored by UCSF Medical and to take as many open forum classes from renowned Universities.Specialties: PEER Advocacy, Support Group Facilitation and working with newly diagnosed clients within the HIV/AIDS field, Community Outreach, Strategic Planning, Fund Raising, Lobbying, Health Education, Panelist, Public Relations, Agency Liaison, Strength Based Counseling, Treatment
