Music has consistently been a deep passion of mine. For my 8th birthday, I was gifted a guitar from my parents. Fast forward ten years and I'm stood onstage at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Performing was merely a stepping stone, however. In early 2018, my band were picked up by an up and coming record label GOOD//CAREFUL. The label, though short-lived, would become my home for the next two years as I was brought on board as the head of A&R. During this time, I worked with numerous artists in Glasgow as well as Manchester, London and Liverpool. Not before long, I was promoted to assistant manager, where I advised on new releases, drew up plans for future artists and created touring packages for current artists. When the label collapsed after a limited vinyl release from the band Sway, I worked with a few local promotion companies in Glasgow and Edinburgh before the pandemic closed our industry.During the pandemic, I took up guitar and amp repairs from my house as a way of creating extra capital. This kept me afloat during three months of furlough from my day job as a Supervisor in Greggs. Since the pandemic, I have been working closely with two local groups - including one who are currently recording their debut album. I have managed to get them significant interest in Scotland and am currently in talks with three labels in Europe about physical distribution. Though these projects have peaked my interest, I am keen to get into a full time position, (potentially out-with the music industry), where I can fully exercise my skills as a member of a management team. I am of the hope that I can find that position here.
