I can't think of a more sublime experience than watching a brilliant insight emerge from behind the eyes of a client. It's what I live for, it's what I'm in school for, and it's what I aim to do in my current roles, both socially and professionally.Over the last ten years, I've spent thousands of hours studying hypnotherapy, yoga and breathwork, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and conflict mediation. It's been my job not just to learn and offer these modalities, but to become an embodiment of them as completely as I can. And now that I've reemerged into academia to pursue a clinical Ph.D., I'll be adding rigorous statistical analysis to that list.Today, in addition to being a full-time 4.0 GPA psychology student at Cal Poly, I'm employed as a Teacher's Assistant for Dr. Laura Freberg and a Research Assistant for the Bennion-Antony Memory Lab, where I get to implement the power of psychology in laboratory experiments and in real contact with fellow learners.Coupled with all of this, I lead a weekly free support group for men, focusing on healthy masculinity, emotional intelligence, mental health, relationship skills, goal setting, and accountability.As I trek through my academic future, I'll strive to find a magical combination of as many of my interests as I can muster, including, but not limited to: mindfulness meditation, physical therapy, group therapy, Buddhist philosophy, pranayama, jazz and classical music, lucid dreaming, street skateboarding (I'll find a way), and as much neuroimaging equipment as they'll let me get my hands on.All of this will point toward my one unifying purpose, which is to help others live meaningfully in every sphere of life.
