I have been involved with cataract surgery in some facet for 11+ years. Starting out as a PACU tech for a few months and then given an opportunity to be an instrument sterilizer. It’s a role I grew into and really learned the OR/surgery side of ophthalmology. From there I became an OR circulator and eventually became a surgical scrub tech. More than 5 years ago I also became a LenSx Femto laser operator while also maintaining my COA certification since 2014. The last 3 years have been an absolute joy for me, as I truly feel like I’ve found my niche performing IOL calculations and Cataract Surgery planning
