After graduating from Columbia College in Chicago with a B.A. in Marketing, Matt packed up and headed west to California. In Los Angeles, Matt found a place for himself as a Production Assistant on an HBO film and quickly rose to the rank of 2nd Assistant Director. Matt worked as assistant director on several films and multiple television series, giving him a sense of production not usual to advertising producers.After 6 years in LA, Matt decided to head back to his roots in Chicago and pursue a career in advertising. Soon after returning, Matt took a position as a producer for the venerable advertising agency Leo Burnett, where he quickly flourished while working on multiple Fortune-500 brands. At Leo Burnett, Matt was SVP/Executive Producer, overseeing the day to day production on Nintendo, , Esurance, UnitedHealthcare and Samsung Global. He managed several producers of all disciplines to execute work across platforms.Now, Matt leads the production department at DDB Chicago. His direct reports include all producers, business affairs and traffic. Matt also plays a key role in building out and increasing revenue at the "Works," DDB's internal studio. His future thinking mentality and strong recruiting efforts gave him the framework to restructure the department to allow the agency to execute client work at the highest level across all platforms, making the DDB Production department more capable and diverse then it has ever been before. Matt enjoys not only executing productions to incredibly high standards, but also excels as a “creative” producer, leveraging his years of experience while working very closely with his creative teams and producers to help them accomplish the best work possible. Matt also enjoys mentoring and growing producers to become future industry leaders. Matt believes that a big part of his success is seeing his producers become amongst the most successful and respected in the industry.
