Matt Bourdon is a First Vice President in the American Benefits Consulting (ABC) New York City office with over eighteen years of experience specializing in absence, disability and life insurance (ADL) programs. As an ADL national consulting leader, he is involved with client development, delivery and strategy across the broad spectrum of ADL, which is closely integrated with top of mind initiatives including wellbeing, organizational health and inclusion and diversity. Matt helps national, large and mid-size clients control health and welfare plan costs, promote employee engagement and financial well-being through development of broad-based strategies coupled with state-of-the-art interventions. Matt focuses on solutions supporting the overall productivity and financial well-being of an employee population. His expertise expands time away from work programs inclusive of vacation, PTO and leave of absence, financial income protection programs such as sick pay, STD, LTD and individual disability and financial asset protection programs such as life insurance, AD&D and BTA insurance programs. He also supports clients with a full spectrum of voluntary benefits, enrollment and administration. He assists clients with strategy and design evaluation, plan design and experience analysis, vendor selection and performance measurement, claims operational assessments and audits for continuous program outcomes and employee experience. Prior to joining ABC, Matt was the Absence, Disability and Life East Practice Leader for a national consulting firm supporting client delivery and team management and growth over his 14 years. In addition, Matt was a Senior Underwriter for a major insurance carrier for five years, focused on long-term disability, short-term disability, leave of absence and life insurance for midsize and large accounts in the East Region. Matt graduated from Lafayette College with a B.A. in Business and Economics, with an emphasis in finance.
