I have a double major in both Spanish and Secondary Education which makes me a versatile candidate capable of working in a variety of fields. I have been teaching in some capacity since 2016 albeit tutoring fellow college students at the University of Maryland Department of Spanish and Portuguese, working as a long-term substitute teacher in a variety of capacities including teaching Spanish prior to graduating from UMD, as well as the past 2 school years where I have worked as a full time Spanish teacher. Most recently, I have been tasked as a content lead responsible for designing and adapting curriculum to fit the needs of a diverse student population.I work in a fast-moving and ever changing environment where it always pays to be organized, structured, and overly planned. The key to my success is the value the relationships I create with students both in the classroom as well on the field/court for the two sports I coach; soccer and tennis. Developing relationships is the hallmark of effective education and something I cherish and love about education. I relate to my students by always emphasizing the importance of determination, resilience, and kindness in my own life and struggles as well as relating to them in the fact that I am also a lifelong learner. In my free time I enjoy learning and practicing new languages, playing chess, and taking opportunities for professional development/ growth.
