I work with home owners to develop a plan to install a complete solar system that meets or exceeds their needs for either grid-connected or off-grid use which can be flexibly installed in stages of small size or large size as finances dictate. My approach keeps costs contained very low because it does not leverage borrowed money. On an all-cash basis there are no finance fees to add. No middle men between the customer and I. I do not warehouse parts. The customer orders the parts from the list provided from the suggested online sources where they can bargain for lower prices using auctions or direct sales as they prefer. When the parts are all in at the customer's location, I will go to the location to assist with the installation. My approach involves hands on education and gets the customer to understand the technology and appreciate the system that they help build. It is the lowest cost method of solar installation that exists besides complete on-your-own D.I.Y. Working grid-connected systems can be started for as little as $500 US.

I am studying the possibility to manufacture custom photo-voltaic solar electric panels here in Southern California (for off-grid applications). My philosophy is that one size or look clearly does NOT fit all needs. Making panels without the need for grid-tied certifications frees me up to make every panel a custom panel if so desired which targets two kinds of solar customers not served well by the current big players in the market: • The first customer group is one for whom cost is a major concern and alternative materials can be used to build panels for them at lower cost by providing custom durability and longevity levels selected to fit actual needs of the client. Not everybody needs a panel with an overkill 30 year warranty or one that will survive extreme weather conditions (like 2 inch hail stones, Desert extreme temperature differential, or sub-zero Arctic cold for example) that don't exist at their particular location that needs a solar installation. Why not scale cost and durability to match what IS needed by the client so they don't have to over-pay for things that are over-built well beyond their specific needs. Custom solar connectors? Not everybody wants MC3 or MC4. Other more traditional and lower-cost electrical connection types are preferred by some and I am prepared to meet their preferences rather than make them jump on the bandwagon of other solar companies as to what kind of connection their panels should have. It's all about gaining more options and control over costs that they could save on.• The second customer group is one whom finds the size, shape, or overall look of current uniform square steel-grey commercial panels to be objectionable and would like to have panels custom engineered to fit their particular physical dimensions, colors, or artistic designs to make the aesthetics of their solar panels more pleasant to their tastes. I have even made engineering prototype sample panels with the look of stained glass!

OS upgrades/reinstallation. Campus network connection wired or wireless setup and troubleshooting. Macs and PCs. Occasional as-needed assistance to the broader campus IT department for aiding staff, faculty and administration computer and network issues when they were understaffed or had major upgrades or campus-wide mass virus infection quarantine and removal issues (Nimda, Code Red, other major attacks).
