I have worked in a production environment for two large corporations in both the banking and insurance industry and came to the decision that Human Resources would be an area where I would best fit in. Rather than crunching numbers in operations I wanted to get into a field where I could help others – finding a job, career development, or dealing with the change that comes with transitioning to a new role. I enrolled in the graduate program at SUNY POLY with a concentration in Human Resources. The program covered a wide breadth of subjects, including various financial, marketing, and technology based courses. The Human Resources specific classes were the ones that made the biggest impression on me as a student and validated my decision.I was also able to take a course that focused in dealing with change which gave me a great new perspective on life and an important part in today’s world of business. I attended a weekend event at the campus called Innovation Challenge New York ICNY Cayan Library (March 2015) in which groups competed on a project of creating new ideas to enhance the college library. Completing the graduate school program, while working full time, was my biggest victory to date.At my current job, I became a member of the New Hartford YoPros (Young Professionals) Organization, which has allowed me to take part in various internal and community based projects.Outside of work and school, I have experienced success as a fiction writer. I have written and self-published a number of works, which has given me experience with editing, book formatting, and marketing management. Since 2012, I have co-operated a movie reviewing website which has afforded me experience in content creation, basic website maintenance and marketing, promoting, and having a strong social media presence. My specialties include multi-tasking, organization, innovation and creativity, and being flexible in adapting to and embracing diversity, equality, and change.
