Over 13,400 ventilators were produced by the consortium in a 12 week period. Deeply honoured to have served with so many talented and capable people which demonstrated the capability of the consortium formed by precision engineering, aerospace, automotive, medical devices and motorsport companies in the UK for a common and critical goal for society and the NHS.An absolute pleasure to lead this programme with leading organisations including Smiths Medical, Rolls-Royce, GKN Aerospace, McLaren, Williams Advanced Engineering, Toyota Racing Development, DHL, Thales, Accenture, Microsoft, Avanade, Siemens & Unilever…An extraordinary feat which included creating a supply chain from scratch from 121 different suppliers sourcing 3.4 million parts, which were sent to 3 new production lines established around the UK whilst in parallel the Smiths Medical production was scaled up. Quality and regulatory compliance was paramount thus experienced engineering expertise was deployed to reverse-engineer, design, procure and build 'end of line' test equipment to ensure specified functional and safety requirements were met. Furthermore, technologies were leveraged including HoloLens for effective remote training to enable teams and production assembly lines.
