I pursue a ‘whole of organisation’ approach, using transparent governance and broad consultation with stakeholders and consumers, establishing effective operational and performance frameworks, service charters, standardisation of work and effective Daily Management systems to drive continuous improvement with outstanding results. A recent project with the Emergency and Medicine Directorate at Barwon Health included a complete redesign of the patient pathway and establishment of visual management systems and daily reporting. This was recently presented to the Regional Quality Council and applauded for its impact on improving the quality of a patients stay, reduction in length of Stay (LOS) in hospital, improved satisfaction amongst patients and staff, and significant cost savings to the health service. Other achievements have included the formation of a program approach for Cancer Services, and development of system requirements and tendering for an innovative software platform to enable the effective management of diagnostic test results and its associated organisational policy and business rules. I successfully delivered a program of process improvement projects, identifying and eliminating waste and implementing solutions to technically challenging problems in a dynamic industrial environment, leading to;•23% improved plant capacity, adding AUD$12.5Million to EBITDA annually.•65% reduction in hazardous waste production in yielding a net saving of AUD$650k annually.In this role, I have delivered a number of New Product Development initiatives providing AARP a first mover advantage in the beverage market across Asia. This position required development and updating safe work instructions (SWI), implementing process change, managing expectations and change, coaching operators in visual quality management, performing daily auditing of quality management and safety observations. I was required to lead daily management and tool box meetings, reporting on departmental performance indicators, manage product scheduling, labour resourcing and leave.This role exists within an ISO9001 quality and ISO14000 environmental management system, and provides support to an ISO17000 NATA accredited testing facility. I am a member of the Point Henry EHS lead team, and AARP representative to a number of globally dispersed project teams to drive cost reductions, create new business opportunities and develop new and improve existing technologies. Over this period I championed and managed a strategic project focused on eliminating Bisphenol-A, a potentially harmful component of packaging containers that is of growing concern to the general public and health professionals. This significant project was positioned at creating a first-mover advantage and sustainable competitive advantage for AARP in the Rolled End Sheet (RCS) industry. Throughout the project life cycle, I was required to make autonomous decisions, establish best practice research processes, develop and manage communication strategies, publish regular progress reports and present stage-gate reviews to stakeholders on key deliverables. This project culminated in the successful application for an International patent.I was a member of the Laboratory Lead Team driving strategic direction of research projects, validating translational research fit for real world solutions, prepare applications for NHMRC and CRC grant funding, and deliver presentations at both domestic and International conferences.Research techniques included tissue culture, proteomics and molecular, and required the supervision of staff and students.
