Commissioned by Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), a directorate of the OECD, to design study and publish policy review, alongside food safety experts, of existing food safety and international trade frameworks for cooperation in post-nuclear disaster scenarios. Constructed econometric model in coordination with OECD Trade and Agriculture Directorate (TAD) to assess the impact of guideline levels for radionuclides and emergency SPS measures on trade flows. In wake of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster of 2011, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) tasked with developing TECDOC of international standards related to food and water contaminated with radionuclides in consultation with organs of United Nations (WHO, ILO, FAO) and specialized agencies (OECD and European Commission). OECD component focused specifically on existing food safety regimes and effects of nuclear disasters on world trading system.
