My passion for computers and technology really started in 1993. I found myself in a new school halfway through the year at the age of 12. Upon arriving, the school realized they didn't have a math class that aligned with my advanced placement. Instead of review, my algebra teacher gave me a book on programing in QBasic. I finished the 7th grade writing 1400 lines of code to form the card game 21. This action significantly impacted the trajectory of my future.At 19 years old I wrote a program for our local KFC franchise that transitioned them from three 3" binders, to running the store from a desktop in the back. I was able to incorporate the inventory management, payroll, and other asset management onto the computer and reduce the time it took to complete these daily tasks from dozens of hours to only a few minutes each week.In 2008 I received my break into the industry. A local software company was looking for a report developer, I offered to work for free to prove my software skill and they took me up on the offer. I was given 90 days to prove I could develop in SQL. I cut my teeth as a Crystal Reports Developer in a relationship that would last 6 years. I migrated to the Networking department and graduated into a Networking/System Administrator for Local Government in North Idaho.During this time I discovered the power of the Linux Operating System. I quickly found a home developing interesting ways to implement Linux in my career as well as my personal life. I was using Qmail instead of Exchange, Shorewall rather than Cisco, and deploying web services and traffic monitoring at every opportunity.For almost a decade now, I've worked at Calix where currently, I lead our Cloud Delivery Team. I'm responsible for establishing processes cross-functionally within Calix and externally with our partners to streamline the implementation of Calix Cloud. My team works directly with customers (BSP’s) to implement Calix Cloud within partner environments. Calix offers two separate approaches to integrate with Calix Cloud. Calix can take a nightly database via SFTP or Partners can integrate using our REST API’s. It's not always work for me, I've raced off-road motorcycles at the highest level, performed on-stage in a many worship bands, and I love heading into the mountains in the jeep with my wife and pups!
