As a part of the City Energy Project, my work included capturing cost-effective energy efficiency gains in the City of Atlanta, developing programs and policies across the community and for municipal operations. The CEP network also helps each city learn from each other, with the intention of developing smarter policies and programs more quickly.

In this role, I advised our clients on the systems aspects and implications of energy use. I leveraged my years of experience in studying and modeling energy technologies and policies to produce insights regarding socially-beneficial system choices. I also lead Cox & Golin's modeling research, where we developed and deployed the integrated climate-energy-water systems model, ForeSEE, to analyze policy options across different geographies and populations. Due to the high resolution in ForeSEE, we were able to assess the implications of various policies in a more nuanced way than most existing energy policy models. ForeSEE's integration of climate and water data makes it a truly unique tool in understanding the impacts and vulnerabilities of various system designs.

I taught a class I created and developed on urban sustainability, focusing on environmental policy and politics.

· Developing a set of policy options to address non-technical barriers to commercial-sector energy efficiency for the Department of Energy's Climate Change Policy and Technology Program with Oak Ridge National Laboratory researchers.· Analyzing policy implications of implementing Superior Energy Performance standards in the industrial sector.· Developed a set of policy options to address non-technical barriers to industrial energy efficiency for the Federal multi-agency Climate Change Technology Program with Oak Ridge National Laboratory researchers.· Reviewed chapters for Climate Change and Energy Security: A Global Overview of Technology and Policy Options by Marilyn Brown and Benjamin Sovacool.· Participate in article development and conference presentations of all related research.· Assist with statistics and subject selection for the quarterly Energy Buzz articlespublished by Georgia Tech.

Assisted in developing and performing research on the intersection of ethics and technology with the purpose of learning how to advance “stuck” sociotechnical projects. Specific duties included interviews, transcriptions, data coding, and survey design related to mass transit and the park system in Atlanta.

•Worked with 17 local organizations to expand the use of local foods throughout the Miami Valley region in Ohio. Managed 5 task forces in developing a business incubator, local meats production, farmer’s markets, integrating into local institutions, publicity, and events and education on local foods. •Co-led Local Foods: Idea Sharing for Community and Economical Development Practice roundtable at the Galaxy III Conference for Extension Professionals.

Developed multiple programs to make UD's campus more environmentally conscious, including:Developed a "Green and Human" friendly cleaning products programDeveloped a plan for replacing incandescent bulbs with CFL'sImplemented expanded recycling measuresDeveloped small and large scale composting for the UniversityCreated the local foods program and worked to expand local foods usage on campusDeveloped a program to eliminate styrofoam from Dining ServicesDeveloped a savings spreadsheet for the implementation of low-flow showerheads, which was then shared with other Ohio universities and utilized there as well.Worked with the City of Dayton and the University of Dayton to install rain gardens on and off campus.
