Hired to lead all the Hawaii based manufacturing functions relating to the processing of Hawaiian Spirulina and Haematococcus Pluvialis within two manufacturing facilities for processing and drying, a tableting facility and an industry leading custom designed 1000 bar super critical CO2 Extraction facility.Within this role• Spearheaded the total rebuild of the manufacturing department, including the implementation of KPI’s, SSOP’s, attendance policies, and a renewed focus on sanitation and quality. • Oversaw all production activities for the 24/7 processing operation, including processors, maintenance staff, extraction operators, and tableting operators.• Established a Change Management team that executed a full reorganization of chains of communication and required signoffs prior to SOP changes.• Worked closely with with VP of Quality and Director of Marketing and Sales to gain market information and correspond it to the manufacturing teams activities. • Collaborated with the Finance Department to develop training information related to the downtime and capex expenses for floor level manufacturing employees. • Supervised the team of 7 direct reports including 6 supervisors and a production coordinator.• Mentored the manufacturing employees, as well as managed the employee hiring, development, and coaching processes.

Promoted to spearhead the operations and supply chain processes for the processing and packaging products of the multi-million-dollar company serving a world market, while executing the dotted line responsibilities for HR, purchasing, and visitor center operations.Within this role• Managed diverse activities including: bulk processing, value added packaging, maintenance, sanitation, warehousing, and logistics. • Evaluated key performance indicators with budget management, while overseeing daily production output, quality, and process improvements.• Established HACCP and GMP guidelines to ensure product meets highest safety standards.• Maintained cooperative interactions with OSHA to align with the government rules and regulations.• Supervised up to 75 employees, while overseeing production, maintenance, purchasing, shipping, and scheduling.• Directed the HR efforts and other departmental objectives including authorization of spending.• Led the development and implementation of motivational techniques and team concept attitudes.ACHIEVEMENTS Increased the annual processing of the factory to >10million pounds from 3million pounds with process improvement. Slashed payroll expenses by an average of 4.7% resulting in annual savings of >$100,000. Reduced the distribution cost by 8.5% with novel stock inventory system engaging direct sales with volume buyers by leading multi-departmental team.
