The team holds the engagement portfolio in relation to motorcyclists to reduce the numbers of this particularly vulnerable form of transport who are involved in collisions. We carry out regular initiatives which, along with enforcement, also include the management of the Bike safe initiative where members of the public wishing to gain experience and feedback can ride alongside Police Motorcyclists after an interactive classroom input.As off-road trained motorcyclists, we are able to reach inaccessible or large open areas on Operation Brookdale. We carry out all protected escorts in Merseyside and further afield, along with abnormal loads. We also provide a traffic management resource at major events and sporting fixtures across Merseyside and use a mixture of marked and unmarked road and off-road motorcyclesI have recently qualified as a Mental Health First Aider and Peer to Peer Supporter.
