Sr. Enterprise Architect role consists of providing guidance, governance, and technical support to several corporate and BECU Tech initiatives: Gen AI (various projects), BECU 4.0, Tech Strategy, Digital Transformation. Previous initiatives were Agile Transformation (corporate-wide), Innovation, DevOps Transformation (IT), and Cloud Transformation (IT). As part of BECU Transformation, filled the role of Product Owner for the Interoperability Platform POD team (part of the larger Tech Foundations Platform portfolio) – role has entailed building a team, managing a product backlog, helping to build out the portfolio, establishing and leveraging SAFe practices, etc. Additionally, supporting the BECU FinTech Incubator in partnership with CoMotion (the University of Washington’s collaborative innovation hub), previously managed the Design Architecture Team (DAT), member of various Governance bodies (Software Governance Council, M365 Governance, etc.), and support critical enterprise projects (example, Network Segmentation).

Provided UNIX and Windows support as an on-site consultant at Washington Mutual. Worked as part of the 24x7 support team for both the West Coast backup operations and the UNIX server support teams.

Designed network architecture for British Petroleum (BP) Chinese Joint Venture (SECCO). Implemented 5-country Wide Area Network (WAN) utilizing Cisco network infrastructure (Catalysts 6509 switches, PIX Firewalls, Cisco Secure VPN, and 3640 routers). Implemented Windows 2000 Active Directory. Managed and trained Network Operations staff in the operation and maintenance of the production and corporate environments (24x7 support). Served as technical liaison between BP and AMEC Technologies (ATL) for the SECCO project. Conducted a security audit and managed follow-up between BP and ATL to resolve errors made during initial BP security audit. Implemented Exchange and Microsoft Operations Manager environments. Created the Disaster Recovery Plan and refined the ATL Backup Plan. Created IT department policies and procedures. Revised technical documentation created by ATL. Ongoing responsibilities included budgeting, managing the production and corporate environments, liaison between operations and all other departments, and ensuring operations participation in all company directives. Created IT implementation schedule for primary petrochemical plant construction phases.

Redesigned and rebuilt existing Active Directory infrastructure, rebuilt external DNS servers, replaced existing Exchange 5.5 groupware environment, and implemented a Windows 2003/Exchange 2003 beta environment. Trained Network Operations staff in the operation and maintenance of the production environments (24x7 support). Rebuilt existing production web infrastructure (Apache and mySQL). Conducted a security audit and reconfigured existing firewalls, routers and switches (Cisco). Created a Disaster Recovery Plan, implemented new security policies and IT Operations policies and procedures. Rebuilt UNIX backup environment (utilizing Amanda) and rebuilt Windows backup environment (utilizing BackupExec). Created network documentation and training materials for Windows, Solaris, and Linux administration.

Served as technical liaison between Trendwest and Fairfield Resorts (a Cendant sister company). Conducted a security audit and managed follow-up to resolve issues discovered in a previous Cendant (parent company) security audit. Migrated Active Directory domain into Fairfield Resort’s network. Migrated existing Exchange 5.5 groupware environment to a Cendant shared Exchange environment. Created a Disaster Recovery Plan, implemented new security and IT Operations policies, and created and updated security and IT Operations procedures.

Managed and trained Network Operations staff in the operation and maintenance of the production and corporate environments (24x7 support). Served as technical liaison between Operations Analysis (OAI) and AMEC Technologies (ATL) for the MiningOA project. Evaluated MiningOA production environment developed by ATL. Identified application weaknesses in COM and SQL database architecture and security issues within file management and domain structure (issues resolved by ATL). Resolved Citrix MetaFrame issues. Provided implementation support for the production environment (servers, routers, firewalls, and switches); provided remote implementation support for the staging environment (servers and routers). Improved security of existing Microsoft Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution. Evaluated security audit provided by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC); managed follow-up between CSC and ATL to resolve errors made during initial security audit. Designed and implemented a development environment at OAI corporate. Redesigned the OAI corporate network to enable proper access and security for the testing of MiningOA. Redesigned and rebuilt Windows 2000 Active Directory structure; implemented Exchange and Microsoft Operations Manager environments. Created the Disaster Recovery Plan and refined the ATL Backup Plan. Implemented an 8-country (14-site) Wide Area Network (WAN) for remote monitoring application. Environment consisted of Windows 2000 servers utilizing F5 and Cisco load balancers, routers and switches - network had an underlying Microsoft Virtual Private Network (VPN) structure to ensure the security of customer data (customer data was processed and served from the Seattle operations site). Defined needs and implemented 24x7 support of production environment. Managed delivery dates and budget. Began partnering discussions with InterNap and Akamai - goal was to leverage their extensive networks while enabling InterNap and Akamai to rebrand monitoring product. Implemented hardware changes to the production SQL server environment to improve performance and increase reliability. Designed and implemented the network staging environment. Assisted engineers and sales team with key customers such as General Electric and the US Department of Transportation.

Managed UNIX administration, NT operations, and reporting systems personnel. Defined needs and implemented 24x7 support for the production and corporate environments. Managed implementation of Business-to-Business (B2B) environment while maintaining legacy Business-to-Consumer (B2C) e-commerce site. Designed and implemented the primary and secondary production environments. Networks consisted of Cisco PIX Firewalls, VPN, Local Directors, 6500 Catalyst switches, and 3600 series routers; Sun Microsystems E4500, E420, and E220 servers running Solaris 7, Veritas Clustering, BEA Weblogic, Netscape Enterprise Servers (iPlanet), Oracle, Blue Martini Electronic Merchandising System. Exceeded 99.5% uptime goal at the primary production site and a 95% uptime goal at the secondary production site. Designed and implemented the Disaster Recovery, backup, and data mining plans. Managed all technical vendors. Ongoing responsibilities included budgeting, maintaining the corporate and development networks, acting as the liaison between IT and all other departments, and ensuring IT compliance and participation in all SLA and marketing directives. Managed the transition of all hardware, software and intellectual property from Hardware.com to Onvia (Onvia acquired Hardware.com in August 2000). Designed procedure changes to ensure Onvia's SLA goal (99.95% uptime requirement).

Sales Engineer Lead - managed a small team of pre-sale engineers focus on Sage and Navision accounting solutions. Work consisted of assisting sales reps with licensing / sizing quotes, implementation statements of work, customer presentations, and vendor relations (including the coordination of staff certifications).Engineer - designed and implemented the customer network and compute infrastructure. Technology consisted of F5, Bay Networks, and Cisco networking technology (routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers) in conjunction with Microsoft and SCO Unix based servers (typically built on HP hardware). Maintained and coordinated certifications necessary to maintain our status as a certified reseller for Microsoft, SCO, F5, Bay Networks, and Cisco.

Managed all aspects of the accounting department. I oversaw accounts receivable directly / managed staff responsible for accounts payable, coordinated with third party CPA for tax filings. Additionally, I managed all aspects of IT (Network, accounting software, records systems).
