Lead Firmware engineer in development of handheld Docsis2.0 Network Analyzer/Signal Level Meter.

Responsible for various areas of systems engineering duties for the specification and integration of a Command and Control (C2) System for joint services. I authored the System Design Document breaking down the customer requirements and the strategy to satisfy them for a complete solution. I evaluated vendor proposals for various software components to be integrated in the C2 system. During the development/integration stage, I authored the Software Management Plan and reported monthly progress to Program Management.

Designed, developed, and debugged embedded software in C for an MPC860 PowerPC running Nucleus RTOS for a family of wireless bridge/router products.Implemented an automatic level control (ALC) protocol to directly control radio output power to meet FCC standards and regulations. Integrated ALC protocol into a proprietary HDLC based protocol to control the output power based upon the peer’s Signal to Noise Ratio.Created proprietary MIB and implemented SNMP routines for standardized and proprietary MIBs. Responsible for implementation of SNMPv3 including DES encryption with Cipher Block Chaining mode and the MD5 message digest algorithm.Responsible for writing functional specifications and design documents.Designed and developed an RMON probe within product.Debugged software implementation throughout the TCP/IP stack.
