Initially employed by Purac Ltd as a Project Manager in 2003 based in Kidderminster when I managed a number of projects for South West Water. This was followed by the delivery of the St Saviour WTW project for Guernsey SWB and then latterly management of projects for Scottish water. In May 2004 I was promoted to Delivery Team Manager (Scotland) and relocated to Scotland in 2005. Since then I have been managing projects and programmes of work from conception, through the tendering process and up to completion and beyond. This included managing the close out of defects and my involvement spanned throughout Scottish Water’s Q&S II, IIIa and current Q&S IIIb delivery periods. I have been working with Joint Venture partners for the delivery of the Civil works including George Leslie Ltd and Morrison Construction (Galliford Try Ltd). The framework) in Q&S IIIa was in excess of £110M with myself being responsible for the MEICA element which exceeded £50M.

Initially based in Telford and then latterly in Stone (Staffordshire) my title was Mechanical Contracts Manager but I worked as a Project Manager for what were predominantly electrical installation contracts. These projects were diverse in nature and included the water industry, the waste sector, the energy sector as well as off shore gas and distilleries and enabled me to prove my project management skills in a sectors outside of water whilst still delivering on time and to budget.

Initially employed as a project engineer and then promoted to Project Manager. I was managing projects from contract award through to commissioning and handover as both main contractor and within Joint venture arrangements. I managed my own projects up to £3.6M and was involved in the close out of several “difficult” projects that were initially managed by others. I also had a period of approximately 1 year based on site as an assistant site manager / commissioning engineer.

During this period I worked in all departments of the company including accounts, QA, tendering, design office and projects including periods on site for construction and commissioning experience.
