Co-led project collecting and analyzing snow samples surrounding a local coal plant to develop modeling techniques for SOx and NOx gases throughout the Colorado Springs region in proximity to the coal plant. Gaining proficiency in calibrating and using field and laboratory tools, including ion and gas chromatographs. Tree core sampling on Pikes Peak to study the migration of alpine tree line in response to regionally changing climate, and small-scale microclimatological feedbacks that are generated by the tree line migration. Researched and wrote “The Mountain Pine Beetle and its Influences on the Biophysical Environment” for final Capstone thesis project.
