Matt is a Principal and founder of Mendota Financial Group. He’s provided comprehensive financial planning and portfolio management services for individuals and their families for nearly 20 years. In his current role, Matt leads the research efforts and develops customized portfolio management solutions for Mendota's clients. He has particular experience helping business owners and principals (and their families) understand ownership transition and the impact different transition paths have their personal financial matters. He routinely works with clients who have concentrated stock position(s), closely held business interests, ESOP’s, real estate portfolios and other assets that require planning and a portfolio structured to compliment and diversify these assets. Prior to forming Mendota, Matt spent eight years as Portfolio Manager for a Chicago, IL based money manager. There he managed equity and fixed income portfolios for individuals and institutions using a value-based approach. Matt received his BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and is a CFA Charterholder. Matt formerly served on the Board and as President of the CFA Society of Madison and helped launch the Madison Investment Conference for institutional investors. He also serves in Board roles for other civic groups in the Madison area. Matt is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He and his family reside in Madison, WI.
